Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but how do you use this pulse tone synched track once you have it in Premiere? How does it work to synch the picture to the sound?

but if your stretching or shortening the sound to match the picture why do you need a full pulse track? Why not just slate each take in the begining and end then line those up and then stretch/shorten the sound to fit. This will allow stereo recording on the MD.

Oh, yeah if your going to put the sound back to the film itself then you would need the pulse track.
Do you have a resolver yet or are you going to use a Elmo GS-1200.

I posted a while back about an idea to use the pulse thingy for sync sound. The short version is: instead of stretching the soundtrack to match the first and last pulse (like slating/clapping at the beginning and end of the take), someone (someone more capable than I) should write a program for use in Premiere that stretches each frame's worth of sound to match the picture frame. Each set of two frames has a pulse, much like a slate at the beginning and end of a two-frame take. Some sound frames would be stretched more than others if your camera's speed goes up and down. I guess the true test would be how it sounds with different amounts of sound stretching in each take.
Will someone please spend the two months required to write the code and tell me how it turns out?

can you believe that was the short version?
